Default Hello All..

Hi my name is Cheryl. My MIL posts to this group and said I should join in. I believe she posts as MaryD, but I'm not sure. Anyways, I am new to quilting and loving it so far. As for my experience in quilting I don't have much. So far I have made a few sandwiched blankets, and a few easy pieced blankets that she was making for the survivors of the hurricane. I did make some placemats that were a bit more difficult than just a big block of fabric. I have since made a couple of quilts, mostly just large blocks pieced together. I just finished a quilt top with the Starflower pattern. It was fun. I already have a few projects in mind I want to make.

As for a little about me.... I have been married to my wonderful husband for just over 5 years now. We have one son, who is 4 and another one due to be born in just about two weeks. We are hoping Grandma Mary gets home in time!! I'm also hoping I don't deliver on my birthday witch is the 31st of this month.

We just moved back to Oregon from Colorado. Lordy do I miss Denver, but its good to be home too! My family lives here in the Willamette Valley also. I guess the saying is true... "There's no place like home"

Hope to get to know you all very soon.

Default Hello All..

Hi Melinda. I guess I should have been more specific. I really haven't gotten into the quilting part, more the piecing part. My "quilting" pretty much consists of big X's. But for the quilts that I do now, that's okay I guess. Right now I am mainly working on cutting accurately and getting my 1/4 inch seam down. I have figured out that the smaller blocks I'm not to accurate at.

Hello - and welcome

I am a relative newbie to the group from the other side of the world - in Australia. You will find we come from all over here.

Very exciting news for the end of the month. You do realise I hope that you are about to be bombarded with requests for baby pictures for that time (LOL) You had better set up a picture album now so you can be ready.

I look forward to getting to know you, and hearing your good news in a couple of weeks.

Default Hello All..

OH believe me there will be lots of pictures. Mary is currently in California with her daughter who just had a baby on the 11th. And there is already an album for her on Mary's webshots site. And I'm sure there will be one for little Nikolas when he is born.

Default Hello All..

I have made one or two. Mostly for everyone else!! lol I seem to have this problem with having the fabric to make the fronts but not the backs lol Being new to quilting my stash only consists of FQ's and things like that. Most if not all of my stash was given to me off of freecycle. Slowly but surely I am getting there lol
