Default Moon Over the Mountain or Summer Solstice

DH updated my webpage today to show a few of the blocks. I've made 78 for the
California King sized bed. Today I bought the batting. I plan on quilting
sections that are 3 blocks x 4 blocks, then joining them together.

I saw that pattern for the first time today. I like your fabric choices.
I'm currently cutting an sewing blocks for a king size quilt and wondered
how I would quilt it just doing SITD... Think I will do it in sections like
you are... Thanks.

They look terrific, Joan. Your idea for quilting them in smaller sections
sounds a lot more doable too.

I like your finished quilts! Did you make all the ones under "Kentucky
State Fair" too? I love the "Jesus loves me" and "Fireworks" quilts,
and the frame that "Fireworks" hangs from is just gorgeous!

Where did you find the "Moon over the Mountain" pattern? Someone else
here was making those as well, and I thought she said she got it from a
magazine, but I couldn't find it at my LQS. I even braved the horror
that is our local Joann's, and they had nothing there, either.

Where did you find the "Moon over the Mountain" pattern?

It came from American Patrchwook and Quilting, February 2004.

Did you make all the ones under "Kentucky
State Fair" too? I love the "Jesus loves me" and "Fireworks" quilts,
and the frame that "Fireworks" hangs from is just gorgeou

Yes, I made those quilts. The frame that Fireworks is in is a display case at
the Fair. 8 or 10 quilts are selected for those wooden frames. I was most
honored to have quilts displayed in the frames. Fireworks is mine and Buttons
and Bows was a collaberation between me and Mom.

Thanx for your kind words,
joan

Remember, I'm the one who has foresworn applique. I did these with glue and
freezer paper (Thanx to whomever here gave us that hint) and a teeny tiny
zigzag stitch with invisible thread on the machine.

If I did 78 blocks with hand applique,
A. it take 100 years
B. it would never get done.
