Hollow Cubes...more on my class
Thanks for checking out my latest pics and your kind comments on my hollow
cube project. Was a great class this weekend The hollow cubes are made the same principal as tumbling blocks. But the instructor gave us instructions on construction without using those nasty "Y" seams. Straight sewing and it's all in how you put them together. Worked slick. I believe the instructions are from Sara Nephew's books. We needed her 60* triangle for the class, called Clearview Triangle NAYY.......Her website is http://www.clearviewtriangle.com/index.html As today's class was really sewing and working at our own pace and for asking questions on our project, I used the afternoon to pick the instructor's brain on tumbling block construction, what size's to cut the 60*, construction order etc etc and was an invaluable afternoon as I really want to make the tumbling blocks someday soon. Although I have 3 quilts to finish which take priority, but I have lots of notes for tumbling blocks Ann.....whose brain hurts and needs to relax for the rest of the evening http://community.webshots.com/user/mrs_ducky |
