Default private view contribution

Hi,
I am supplying work on a sale or return basis to a gallery for a
joint exhibition and have been asked by the gallery owner to make a £5
contribution towards drinks and nibbles for a private view.
I have no customers in the area and will not be able to attend
myself. I've never been asked before for such a contribution, does anyone
else think this is out of order?
