Default How to choose a lining

I am sometimes confused as to which lining is best for a particular fabric.
For example, a know that silk is best lined with a Bemberg rayon like Ambiance,
but I don't know what to use to line a high end synthetic crepe, for example.
Does anyone know if there's some sort of chart somewhere that explains which
fabrics get which linings? Thank you.

I don't know if there's a chart like that; I'd guess there probably is
but I don't know where it is. You might check on the Threads website,
or search using your favorite search engine.

I don't often sew items that need linings and when I do, I'm usually
adding the lining for warmth, so it probably will involve heavy quilted
material. When I do include a lining it's important to me that the
lining can be cleaned the same way the outer or fashion fabric is
cleaned. If the fashion fabric is dryclean only, it's important that
the lining can be drycleaned; if the outer layer is going to be machine
washed, the lining should also be washable and preshrunk.
