Default OT - where to find heavy wool in London

Sorry, totally OT, just hoping someone here knows!

I'm in London, UK.

Some relatives are coming over for the weekend, and just this morning
called and asked where they can find heavy wool to use for uniform
jackets for reenactment. It needs to be thicker than normal wool for
clothing.

Anyone has any ideas?

Thanks!

If John Lewis, in Oxford Street, sells fabric, that might be a possible
place. Other than that, I don't know the shops well enough any more,
Hanne. Sorry.
Kate will probably know, though.

Kate Dicey has made Uniform jackets, so would know where to get that sort of
fabric. It's probably on her web page.

Unfortunately, Kate is on holiday with her mom.

Probably won't help for this weekend, but I've mail ordered heavy wool (a
long time ago) from a company called Britex Fabrics. NAYY, but loved the
fabrics and the service.

I got my uniform fabric from he

Unfortunately they are in Yorkshire, not London.

John Lewis in Oxford street may have some, as may

Thanks, Kate - others suggested look at your webpage, so that's what I
was guessing at anyway. I've talked to the guy who wanted the fabric, he
is more than happy to do it by web/mail. He has some samples he can send
over and then ask for something similar.

In Denmark, it proved impossible for them to get anything, since no one
stocks this and don't want to buy a whole bolt unless they can sell it all.

Thanks again to everyone.
