Today's other Katrina story goes this way:
DD2: Mama, did you ever wash clothes with three horses?
Polly: Well, no. Don't think I ever did.
DD2: Did you know horses are as nosy as cats?
Polly: No, I didn't know that.
DD2: I was down at my neighbor's garage - she still has a washing
machine that works and she has to keep her horses in the garage because the
fence is down and there's no other place to keep them.
They stuck their heads over my shoulder and watched every move I made.
You just ought to try it.

Polly, I just love your "Swamp Hurricane notes"!
Next time a hurricane is headed our way - I'm gonna come ride it out
with YOU and the gators!

Tina, have canned goods and water, will travel
not on I-10 though

OMG, that is a RIOT! Gators in the front yard, horses in the garage,
what's next?!

I think DS and I read that book.... wasn't it something like Possum
Come a Knockin' ? ROFL

I thought this was one of the young/child/daughter questions..... you
know, like I asked my mom when I was about 12 and she was about 35....
"Mom, did they have peanut butter when you were a girl?"

"Yep, our mom threw peanuts on the kitchen floor and we all just went
to dancing!"

ROFL,
Tina

Ah, no. Tina. DD2 is not a child although she will always be our baby. She
has 5 grandchildren and it would be lovely if she were just shopping for
Christmas happys for the little ones. That is not where life finds us this
year. But she does us proud, so proud, with her strength and faith. Polly

You do me proud to know you Polly - I know where she gets that strength
and faith.

It is so obvious, everytime you write on this group.

Tina, thinking of a church sign I saw this weekend that Polly reminds
me of....

Don't just 'keep the faith' - spread it around!

This looks like as good a place as any to toss in a Swamp hurricane note.
Today's paper shows the law enforcement guys with guns in hand. They were
keeping an eye out for the gators while the power company crews were trying
to pull the power poles back upright. Now, that ought to be something for
the Las Vegas PD to tell their grandchildren about. I can just hear it now.

LOL! Me too! The grandkids will never believe it! g

So glad you happened through here, Sandy. Can't you just see the Las Vegas
PD saying, "You need us to w-h-a-t?".
Gives a whole new meaning to the question, "And how was your day?".
