That sounds very much like what we would call a "balaclava helmet". -- Bruce Fletcher Stronsay, Orkney (Remove dentures to reply) Yes Bruce i meant a Balaclava , but forgot this American /English name since we call it a Kova -Gerev A Sock-Hat mirjam |

We actually wear boots here in the winter (Canada) and legwarmers just aren't that convenient, IMHO. The baby sweater I started was the February one from Knitters' Almanac. It's become a standby baby gift and now everyone expects it. Rather the victim of my own success. Louise |

Dennis It looks a lot like my hat , but i add a longer for part which i knit as a trinale , which can be tucked under the shirt opening for added warmth to the neck, and a smaller triangle at the back so it stays in the shirt . also i think my `eye opening` is a bit smaller .. but i might be wrong about that . mirjam ps i start mine at the middle of the head and knit downwards . |

Louise ,
now this is a success story , being asked to knit it again and again ,, can you knit 2 at the same time ? mirjam That made me laugh! I've never tried! I'm such an impatient knitter, I'm not sure I can labour through two at a time. I need to get to the end product relatively quickly! Though the more I think about it... Neat idea. I shall have to try a couple like that. I am down to the last sleeve on the one I was making. The intended recipient is a co-worker and this is for a little grandaughter who is being born in March if all goes well. Now she has announced that she is going to be a grandmother again just a couple of months later by her daughter-in-law! It's baby time again! Louise |
