Default I feel like I am falling off the planet!

I haven't managed to drop in properly for months, and I haven't set a
quilting needle to my quilt for Ruby the Great Niece for weeks. Jolly
Dicey have been busy, which is good. And I thought my latest adventure
would amuse...

This is a doublet for a customer:

20 body sections
20 tab sections
10 tab linings
4 yoke pieces
2 front interfacing sections
4 back lining sections
4 front lining sections
2 pocket pieces
1 collar piece
1 collar interface piece
1 collar lining
2 wing pieces
2 wing lining pieces
2 wing interfacing pieces
1 loop at the back of the neck

I make that a total of 76 bits of fabric, and the thing had no sleeves!
I'll post pix when it's done.

Meanwhile y'all be good now...

Ahh Kate, I feel for you. Years ago my dear Mom would ask ( in the Spring)
if I would make her an outfit. "Sure Mom, I would answer." ( You would
think that I would learn.) She would then search to purchase a pattern that
had the most pieces. After all, Barbara sews beautifully! It would take at
least a week to find the correct fabric and cut it out. Then another week
to sew it up and try it on, and then it had to be fitted and completed, and
pressed. No wonder that I stick to the most basic patterns for myself and
DGD.

Gosh Kate, you do love a challenge! I am looking forward to the finished
project.
Hope you don't finish and have a leftover piece or two!
Nice to have you come up for air here.

Well Kate, we sure all feel for you, but be honest: Isn't that the elixir of
your life? ;-) Just plain simple patterns would bore the knickers offa your
bum if they should ever make it into your workshop. ;-) And don't forget not
to do the matching hat to the bride's dress. ;-

U. - herself too daft for anything beyond Burda style patterns (so far).

Oh my, Kate! :O *76* pieces?!? No wonder you've been busy! I hope this
customer appreciates all the work involved.

He will! I'm looking forward to the Edwardian wedding dress: Su has
made the pattern for that and I get to make the little blouse to go
under the main dress, in pink silk and £200 of silver lace!

Well all these bits are my own fault. He sent us a picture of a shield.
I sent back a pic of the doublet based on the shield. He fell for it.

Luckily the next one is an Edwaerdian wedding gown: corset, under-blouse
and gown. Much simpler!

No left over bits and only a few hooks and eyes to go...

Giggle... Well, yes, but 76? That is a bit excessive! And I don't
think she's having a hat. Dunno: we'll ask her tomorrow at the fitting.

U. - herself too daft for anything beyond Burda style patterns (so far).

Burda are good. I've yet to find one that didn't fit together properly.
Even the ones off the Burdastyle website that you print at home work
well if you take care with sticking them together.
