OH, Gem, I am so sorry to hear that! Just what you need - NOT! Take things
easy, my friend, and remember that stress causes/aggravates many problems.

Katherine

Gemini,

My husband had what he thought were gall bladders attacks of varying
intensities for several years. The doctor did ultrasound and other things
and never saw gallstones. Then after moving to San Angelo when he had one
of these that was especially bad he made an appointment with our then "new"
doctor. She did a test called a hydascan (not sure of the spelling) where
they check the ejection fracture of the gall bladder. They determined that
his gall bladder was diseased and he had it removed. Now, you may have had
this test already and I am barking up the wrong tree, but I just wanted to
throw the idea out there.

I hope you are feeling better soon and back to 100%!

Default OT - Went to the hospital last night / very early this morning!

Thank you, Norma! No worries about taking it easy, my body won't allow me
to do anything except take it easy. This happened the night before last,
but I'm still feeling the effects of it all. My back is aching (the pains
were through my body from my stomach to my back), and my stomach is still
very very upset and tender. I had a few pains again last night... but
nothing anywhere NEAR what I had felt the night before... and yes, I was
once again sick to my stomach. Therefore I have decided that I am eating
one meal a day until things are back to normal... and eating it early enough
in the day (about 1:30 PM or so) so that it has time to digest LONG before
couch potato time. I am trying to stay sitting up, rather than laying down
anytime too close to mealtimes as well. Although, my back needs me to lay
down from time to time.

Thank you for your prayers! They are all appreciated!

I had to be taken to the hospital at 1:30 AM with MAJOR pains in my
stomach, and well... I was also sick to my stomach. / The pains
actually started shortly after 9PM last night, but I didn't get sick to my
stomach until about 10:30 PM.... from there it just got progressively
worse until I could no longer take the pain anymore and Matthew called the
ambulance to come take me to the hospital just before 1:30 AM. Because
of being through this a few times before, I didn't really want to go by
ambulance ($45 that we
can't afford), and I thought I could just wait it out until it stopped.
NOT!!

I have had this happen a few times over the past five years... they still
don't know what it is for sure. Back when I had the first bout of it,
the specialist said I had all the symptoms of a gall bladder attack, but
the tests they ran (x-rays, blood workup, and ultra sound showed nothing.
The specialist even went so far as to book me into the hospital to have a
look down my throat with a tube (*warning* I have a low tolerance to
things being put down my throat (it even gags me if I brush my tongue
back a little too far).... I really wish they would just knock you out to
do it), but said that there was nothing... not even a little gravel.
However he said that I *could* have had gravel which dissolved, and that
it happens all the time where it keeps recurring until they actually do
catch it for sure... THEN they can do something about it.

In any case, the emergency doctor *thinks* that it could be one of the
medication I take causing problems with my stomach... so he suggested
that I stay away from it for a couple of weeks and then instead of taking
at least one every day I should take them very infrequently and only when
absolutely necessary. It says on the prescription bottle "One tablet,
three times daily", but my family doctor told me when he gave it to me to
take it when I need it without going over the limit of three per day.
Therefore if I only need one, or two on any particular day, I could just
do that. *shrug* Guess I'll try this other way for a while and see what
happens. Mind you, this is the medication that I didn't have at all for
the entire month of October because I couldn't afford it. So if I can go
a whole month without taking them, I should be able to not take them for
a couple of weeks and then just limit my use of them for when I REALLY
need them.

I am exhausted (not so much sleepy, but tired)... that is quite a
draining and tiring experience. I think I got approximately 2 to 2 1/2
hours sleep... maybe less, considering the nurse keep coming in to check
your vital signs often. No doubt I will feel it later and likely pass
out early tonight.

Just wanted to let you know that I may not be online much for a few days
so my body can rest up and try to get completely over this.

Besides that, my son is back home now and it's his computer... so I tend
to use it early in the morning before he wakes up so that he can have it
the rest of the day. However... he got rehired at his old job where one
of his previous supervisors pulled some strings (the one who had him
fired actually quit working there about three weeks after Matthew lost
his job) and starts training (yes, training even though he worked for
them for 1 1/2 years, but at least it's paid training) on November 28th
for four weeks, then he will be back out on the floor. He was also
interviewed yesterday for a part-time job in Zellers... so I will be able
to be back online during most of the day and into the evening before he
comes home and wants on here to chat with his friends.

Yeah, well.. I was a little starved for attention while Matthew was away for
almost three weeks, so... LOL Yeah, right... I wouldn't wish that on
anyone!

Default OT - Went to the hospital last night / very early this morning!

Guess what, Katherine... remember the conversation we had about someone
adding stress to my life? Well, earlier that night that person actually
showed up here at the house. I felt somewhat calm at the time, even if
*slightly* aggravated... and then this happened to me a few hours later.
*sigh*

I am trying not to be stressed, and I even stayed clear of the visitor.

Anyway, thank you for your kind thoughts... I will try to take better care.
I have an appointment with my family doctor this Thursday... hopefully I'll
be feeling better before then, but better or not, I am going to be telling
him about this last episode.

Not yet, Mirjam, but thank you for your good wishes. My back and my stomach
are still hurting... but they aren't gripping pains like the other night...
just a continuous ache to both my back and stomach, and tenderness in my
stomach. I was sick to my stomach again last night, therefore I have eaten
very little today and won't bother with any other food for today. Hopefully
things will be back to normal over the next couple of days though.
