Wedding Ring Markings

My wedding set has markings inside both rings that I am unable to find
any information on. It says 14K (which I understand) then a marking
that looks like a large "S" with a "W" inside the top half of the S
and a "L" in the bottom half of the S.

Anyone know where I can find information about markings like these?

It sounds to me like a makers mark. A design the maker of the ring has come up
with to signify they
made the piece. There's no guarantee there'll be any info on it anywhere,
depending on where it was
made. Jewellery made in England is usually traceable, but other countries not as
easily.

For example I could go to a tool maker and have a stamp made. I am under no
obligation to register
the stamp with any particular body so although the work would bear my mark, it
would be known to
very few people.
