Typical jade shapes
---------------------------------
Because of its smooth even texture, jade has long been a perfect
carving material.
Here are some common Jade shapes with their meanings:
- Round shape disk with square in the middle, also know as pi disk, it
is used to honour the Spirit of the Heaven and Earth. In old days,
people believe that the heaven was round and the earth square
- peach for longevity
- mandarin duck for love
- deer for high official ranks
- bat for blessing
- fish for affluence

There are 5 famous jade producing areas in China
