Sorry, your post went away...

I think that if you wash the 100% cotton and dry it, then wash and dry
the 100% cotton flannel (2 or 3 times) all should go together well.

The flannel tends to shrink a lot! It should make a nice "tactle"
diversion.

I always back my 100% cotton baby quilts with W&N cotton batting with
100% cotton flannel. Have never had a problem.
