let me recommend a wonderful tool for you for inventory... a counting
scale... :-) I just bought one, because I'm going through the same
thing (with Peachtree Accounting.)

Get one that has a .01gram accuracy. I got mine (iWeigh 201) for $99
(plus $10 shipping) at rightonscales.com. Wonderful alternative to
counting jump rings... and crimp beads... and 2mm things.... :-)

oHaus also makes very good ones, but pricier. If you do a search,
they're called counting scales.

it may still drive me right 'round the bend!!!!

[counting jump rings, anyone?]

Get a counting scale, you don't even have to multiply/divide. You put a
fixed number of the items on the scale (10-25 usually), then weigh, then
you put the rest on and it will tell you how many there are. :-)

But you do need the .01 accuracy if you're going to do small things like
jump rings.

darn! mine only goes to 0.1.
but you're right - i could be weighing some of this stuff and
multiplying/dividing.

DUH! [smacks side of head]
