Default Machine knitting

Firstly I am not a knitter but I support african knitters and need some
help.
I'm Jim, live in the UK and support training for orphan girls in
Western Kenya.
These girls are 14/17 age who are looking for ways to earn money to
support themselves and usually their brothers and sisters. They are
helped by grandparents or other relatives. They are very very poor. I
have set up a training room in a place called Matunda. I have shipped
them sewing machines and two brother knitting machines (second hand).
They take government exams after their training and they are very hard
workers. They are using the machines but the punchcards they have are
limiting and they would like more designs. I don't know much about
cards and I am not sure the best way to help them. I have seen brother
punch machines but very few cards. I know that it would be good if they
could design knitted goods which reflect their culture etc. They have a
brother kh836 and a brother kh 230.
If anyone can help me with any information to help them I would be
truly grateful,

God bless,

Jim

Hi Jim,

I can't help you bc I know absolutely nothing about knitting machines,
but I wanted to commend you for helping the girls in Kenya. I think
it's just wonderful what you are doing to help them help themselves !

I agree totally! This is such a nice and unselfish thing to do for others,
Jim! *hug* I don't know anything at all about knitting machines either,
unfortunately... but some of the other people on here have mentioned them
before, so hopefully you will get some helpful answers.

I did a search on Yahoo Groups and found 5 groups that matched Brother
knitting machine. Someone there should be able to help.

Good luck, Shana
