IMPORTANT NOTICE: Your moderator's vacation...
Hi All,
Well, it's summer. And I'm taking a well deserved vacation trip with my mom. Access to my mail server and the internet in general will be very limited, though I may be able to get connected once or twice during the one week trip. What that means is that for the next week, Saturday to Saturday, moderation services for this newsgroup will be limited, or perhaps not available all week. So if you don't see new messages, that's why. As usual when I'm out of town, I'll take a laptop with me, and try when possible to connect and process new messages, but this time, it's a cruise ship to Alaska's inside passage. So the opportunities will not be plentiful... I trust you all understand... cheers Peter Rowe moderator rec.crafts.jewelry |

I'm willing to sacrifice and take your place. Your mom and I will get along great, I'm sure......... Have fun on your vacation!
Thanks for the email hallmarks vs trademarks. I had been under the impression that a trademark for jewelers here in the US was the equivalent of a hallmark. The trademark is what you get on a "custom logo" stamp, as via Rio Grande, isn't it? Or is that something different still? Barbara Dream Master I'm sure you and my mom would get along great. But I'm going on this one. You can take her on the next one if you like. I'll start feeling guilty enough over such vacations to not cut you all off from the group, when the job starts paying a salary or something. But if it helps, I'm investigating the idea of changing the moderation method to one based on the "STUMP" program, which is then run on and hosted by an ISP's web server, so the group can be moderated from any web enabled connection, and the setup allows easy use of moderation teams. Thus, I could more easily talk one or more readers into becoming co-moderators, so there'd be someone around to take over when I can't do it. We''ll see. I have to look at how much it will cost, first... Peter Rowe |
