Default brother 891

Having "gone electronic" I am trying to sell my Brother 891.

I took it out of its box recently just to check it over and have discovered
a problem using a punchcard. When I take the carriage across it does not
always select the needles correctly. The problem is intermittent and does
not necessarily affect the same needles each time.

The problem does not go away when I use the carriage from my electronic.

The machine would appear to be clean and there is no apparent build up of
oil.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sue
