"Sunbonnet Girls" by Arline Buntley in about 1935. Not just your
ordinary Sunbonnet. THis one has silk ribbon bonnet bows and French
lace trim on her sleeves and bloomers and just a little hand
embroidery in her bouquets. "

Thank you, Louise. 'Sunbonnet Girls' had been calling to me for years; I'm
so happy to have it ready for a Happy Dance. Here's a good reason to always
wash a quilt before you call it done. I had missed stitching the top of one
of the arms. Wouldn't a sweet baby have had a good time poking a tiny
finger into that opening until all the stitching came undone? The ribbons
are double-hemmed since I'm expecting they'll get chewed and tugged on . . .
at least that's the plan. Polly

Thanks very much for this, Jenn. Polly, what a simply adorable quilt -
linings to the dresses and all. I know you enjoy putting your own
touches on things and this is especially successful (not that I don't
love chenille caterpillars, too!).
Thank goodness for this marvellous piece of technology that enables us
all to share and see the wonders we all create.

I would roll it round something soft (like a draught excluder) - right
side *outside, and cover with washed cotton.

Well golly, Sandy. That's high praise indeed. Thank you. We haven't
been blessed with a great-grandbaby girl. Maybe one day. Meanwhile,
I'm studying what would be the safest way to store this little quilt.
Do I fold it or roll it? Do I pad the fold or roll with acid-free
tissue paper or would a many times laundered old cotton sheet do quite
as well? What do you think would be good while we're waiting? Polly

Hi Polly,
Love your quilts!
I've a question, if you don't mind.. (and apologies for hijacking the
thread)
How do you make the tilty blocks in your Jumping Frogs quilt?
It's really cool! (well, they all are, but you know what I mean..)
Thanks in advance!

Polly, another wonderful creation. Now that my two sons are married am
I safe to dream about a granddaughter? I would hate to wait for a
great-granddaughter. Our generations are spread so that I doubt I live
to see any great grandchildren. SUSAN

We may have just a little language barrier here - I thought a draught was a
beer. Polly

You just might live to see great grandchildren; meanwhile, I recommend you
get going with some sweet things for a grand who may only, just now, be a
twinkle in God's eyes. Polly

Default New Polly photos posted - draught

3 ( Brit. draught) a current of cool air in a room or other confined
space : heavy curtains at the windows cut out drafts.
