Directory!!!!

Over on our facebook group Karen has volunteered to set up another
directory. For those who have not joined us there as well as on usenet
here is what she wrote.......


Okay, The Time has arrived. Time to begin Directory 2013!

How to be in the Directory:

If you are already in the current Directory and have no changes you need
do nothing.

If you don't know whether you are in the Directory or not, ask yourself,
"Do I have a copy?" If you have one you are in it. That's the only way
to get one. If you lost everything on your computer this year and don't
have one and don't know if you are in it, you can ask me and I will look.

If are not in the Directory and want to be now, or if you have any
changes, inbox me your information. RCTQ screen name if you have one.
Name. Email. Mailing address. Favorite fabric. Birthday month and day.

Requirements to be in the Directory:

To be in the Directory we have to know you. The members of the group
sharing their contact information listed above are sharing it with known
and trusted friends, so for security reasons you have to be known and
trusted.

Also, to be in the Directory you are giving us your word that you will
not give a copy of it to ANYONE. As in no other person at all. If you
do, you will be required to send everyone in the directory 40 fat
quarters each. We just do not hand out the Directory. No.

When to be in the Directory:

Let the fun begin now! : ) This is the 8th, I will stop taking
information on the 22nd and get it sent out shortly thereafter. Thanks
for participating, you guys make or break the Directory project, and we
have had a good many years of success now!

How can I join the Facebook group? I found it and sent a request, but no luck yet. I was in the directory for a couple of years, but not for the last 4 or 5. I'm looking forward to reconnecting to the quilting world this year.

You might just have to wait for the "group owners" (well,
administrators, in this case, really) to see your request. And they'd
need to either remember you (and recognise your current FB name!),
before letting you in.

If they don't, they'll ask others to try to verify that you are a
friend, before letting you in.

This might all seem a little much, but on FB there are more photos etc,
and maybe just generally more info that here on the news group and so,
we're all trying to be a little cautious about letting people in, so
that once in, we don't have to be so careful. Does that make sense?

But for now, just remember that the admin might not be checking all the
time.

That said - has it been long since you sent your request?

I understand. Oh well, I've joined a few other boards too. I'm just excited to talk quilts again with people! I have some friends who sew but not many who quilt regularly, and haven't joined a guild yet (hard to leave my young kids. Or rather, hard to get them to let me leave!). It hasn't been all that long since my request - a day or two. But they might not recognize me anyway. Thanks for the explanation .

i remember Lynn. her Dh is from Auckland, NZ.
she is ok by me, if that helps for her to get into Facebook or the directory
if she wants to.
