Default Needlework in Ireland

Hello,

I'm a lurker who is planning a trip to Ireland in May. I was
wondering if any of you know of any needlework shops I might visit
while I'm there?

Thanks very much,
Sandra

In Balinaboola, which is close to New Ross, County Wexford, in the southeast
corner of Ireland, is "Madra Dubh".

I've never been there so can't offer any comment.

I was there2 years ago in May and didn't fine one LNS :-(! There had been
one in Dublin but it closed. What I did find were a few needlework items in
the craft sections of the various department stores in Dublin. I got one or
two small things and that was all.
I REALLY wanted to get a few hanks of woll but there was none to be found in
any of the large or small shops I went to! That really surprised me. I asked
and no one seemed to know where I coud find any. Seems it is all sent out to
the people who do the hand knitting for the different sweater companies!
Where in Ireland will be you visiting? I was in Dublin and then drove up to
Co. Donegal and down the west coast and then through the south east section
back to Dublin. I had a WONDERFUL time and can't wait until I can talk DH into
taking me back again!! CiaoMeow ^;;^

We were in England with my hubby in government service. I am not even Irish
and ended up with a whole slew of Belleek dishes. They are sooo thin I could
not believe it so have a lot of shamrocks in my dining room cabinet
now....Found nothing in needlework while there. It seemed that all the good
stuff came from Holland.
