Default Tall Ships and Zoo Pictures: OT

Prairieson and I recently visited the Toledo Zoo, one of the finest city
zoos in the country. We always have a great time, and it's particularly
special because we both remember going there on field trips when we were in
elementary school.

A few years ago, I was called in to help with the zoo's Hyacinthine Macaws.
They had tried for nine years to get a chick that lived. I helped them with
incubabtion techniques and such, and we ended up with a live chick that they
nearly killed before I could get there from my Michigan home. I took the
baby home with me and kept him for five or six months. He was absolutely
amazing!! I still miss him... my little Duncan.

Anyway, one of the things I particularly love about going to the zoo is
taking pictures. I know I whine a lot about taking pictures of my beads, but
photographing nature seems to come easily to me. I've enjoyed doing it since
I was in the army back in the 1970s. I threw together a page of some pics
from our recent zoo trip. Enjoy!

Today, we're going to see the Tall Ships come into the harbor. Prairieson
has the rest of the week off, and we plan to enjoy every second of it!:

Wow -- you learn something new every day. I had no idea Toledo had a harbor.

Today, we're going to see the Tall Ships come into the harbor.
