Default OT too quiet

I have not yet opened the box from the round robin that I am in from Carol Doak's yahoo! group. It is our last round, has to include applique. We have about 6-7 weeks to finish it.

Today I am finishing up a cuddle quilt for a friend undergoing chemo and reconstruction from stage 3 lobular carcinoma [very aggressive form of breast cancer]. It is a simple design, and backed in purplish/mauve-ish marbled flannel, no batting.

And I am making a commitment to start thinking about doing a quilt for me.

Other than sewing, I have picked up my crochet again to finish up a keyboard muffler [goes under the keyboard at work to deaden the sound of the keystrokes while court is in session]. We have solid oak workstations, old with no keyboard trays, so the sound echoes. Also, want to make a loom-knit hat and scarf set that matches. Yep, you guessed it, have made many hats, everything is from different yarns.

I am thankful for seeing some of our group still checking here.

Oh, so do I. I have been trying to think of something worth posting

about, for a couple of days - not much to report, though.

I am positively making time to do some P&Q most days, now. With the

days drawing in, and getting dark so early, that I can only really work

in the mornings. So, the household chores have to wait as the light is

not important!

So the round robin is winding itself down. Bet you are excited to see what
returns. Sounds like you are keeping pretty busy over
there on the coast. Quiet turkey day here too. Just 3 of us. I am
determined to get into the sewing room today.
I wish folks would check in more here too.
Hugs, Taria

Son and DH are feeling better. DH rode with me today to TSWLTH for a great
buy on flannel to make a few pillowcases for DGD, and also baby blankets for
charity. I got 2 bolts, enough to keep me busy for awhile!

Default Meanwhile, back at the ranch... OT too quiet

Howdy!
Check!
Putting up yard angels out front; some had to have new lights wired on,
I can do that. Had to test, re-test, plug in, tie down (where are the tent
stakes I bought last year?!!? probably with the ones I bought 2 yrs ago...).
Everything is looking pretty good. I'll know after dark.
Quilts, quilts everywhere! And not a spare among 'em. ;-D
Finishing a not-newborn baby quilt for friend$ (their 3rd commissioned from
me, tho' I don't usually do commission work -I like these people), got a top
ready for our friend at the dry cleaner (lots of soft florals); and just
getting used to the latest quilt done in autumn colors when it's time to
pull out the December, Christmas & winter quilts.
Have had fun this year acquiring more fabric. My request for Christmas
is better storage (more? different? bigger? stackable?), and I put this
request to the #1 Mercedes-Benz parts man in the U.S.. He knows parts
departments and storage & shelving and Organizing for multiple pieces.
I have the shelves. I need the containers to be more uniform so more will
fit on those shelves. ;-D It's all good!

Fell in love w/ beauties from Jason Yenter at In the Beginning :

I could go on ... and so I did. Love/lust - works for me!

Happy Holidays, Quilt Friends!

Howdy!
I knocked, I came on in (I still live here). g

Yes, I still call out a "Change the subject line!" every now & then.
My book club gets so off topic, which we don't mind, but the stunning
content is often quite different from the more sedate subject lines. It's
like watching a late-night tv comedienne: "Say WHAT?!!!?" g

We could start a rumor to get a conversation going.
Pat, did you hear what Taria said about... !!? Shocking!

Hope y'all are enjoying the Holidays in your favorite way.
Cheers!

Yes, I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving over there!
I miss the wonderfully long threads we used to specialise in g
Remember? they used to change topic several times, on the really long
ones; but on the whole they were on topic, until right near the end.
Ragmop would always recite her mantra about changing the subject line,
and I never could because it simply wouldn't change for me!
Things change, though, and there seems not to be too much to talk about.
I think the threads fed off one another, too. So, without the
questions, and varied answers we tend to round off a topic very quickly.

I was trying to think of a topic to start, but hadn't quite got one. In
the next couple of days I will post about this quilt I'm working on.
It's quite interesting I think!

Oh, yeah! Sandy popped in.
I suspect many check here once in a while, but many have moved over to Facebook [sorry, I don't do social media], or have gone on to other pursuits.

For what it's worth, remember when Carol Doak started her yahoo! group many years ago, and so many of us jumped right in and signed up? Would you believe she has now reached 9000 members! Wow! How many of us are still on that group? I do see Mary from Oregon posting there. [I rarely post there but read and do the blocks]

It's cold here this morning - 44 degrees. In Lompoc where I used to live, it is 21.

I still am a member of the Carol Doak Yahoo group. I don't post much but
I've done a lot of the projects. I'm a little behind on my Scrap Scramble,
having not had time to do the latest, and I have printed the 9000 Member
block, but haven't had a chance to start yet.
