Default The best memorial for Sue (MeSue)

Some of us will want to make some gesture to commemorate Sue,
and this is good. I would like to suggest one thing that
perhaps no one would have thought of.

The very, very best thing you could do in Sue's memory is to
have a colonoscopy. Sue had colon cancer which spread to the
liver...clearly a very serious situation. If colon cancer is
detected in time, it is very curable. If polyps are detected
and removed, cancer can be prevented. Sadly, Sue was young
enough to not be in the normal risk group for colon cancer, and
she and her doctor would likely not have thought to have routine
screening for that condition.

Get a full scope...not just the lower colon "sigmoidoscopy".
Save a life. The very best memorial to Sue, I think.

Recently, when I was talking to a good friend, she told me she had a
tattoo. We are both over sixty, so I was surprised. She said she could
not show it to me, since it was in her colon! The doctor put one there
as a marker after removing a polyp. Wonder if he signed his art work?

You're right, Lynne, & I need to get mine scheduled. Thanks for the
reminder. DH had his last spring & our FNP (family nurse practitioner) made
me promise to get mine done this fall.
