I was actually thinking out a using base of white or black and then
using orts over it.

I'll look for starch at the grocery store later

(who's TUSAL has lots of glittery orts)

Interesting to see but I think likely orts in glass sphere is easier
lol

but this looks like more fun.
First I have to find water bombs and starch that isn't in a spray can
(yes, I know I can use white glue)

I'm tempted to do it too. I just need to figure out what to do with them
afterwards since they look similar to a cat toy I need to make sure they
aren't within a cats reach.

It does look like fun - bring you back to childhood fingerpainting, sort of.
You can usually find liquid starch in the grocery store, but I've also seen
starch powder, which you then mix with water to make the liquid starch. I
don't know if I'd use white glue, but you could use decoupage glue stuff, or
that stuff that Michael's sells for stiffening ribbon, IIRC, called "Stiffy"
- tee hee. Anyhow, I'd just thin those down. They're better, clearer
drying than the white glue. Just sayin'

'Stiffy' ?? Sounds like something you would find in pharma near
Cialis or Viagra

LOL - hence my tee hee. Yup - it's some product that was out at least 15
years ago. Comes in a plastic jar, made for setting ribbons. As when you
do some big decorative bow, you use this stuff to coat it, and it sets the
ribbon "stiff" but clear. Cracked me up when I first saw it. I honestly
haven't bought it again - but did get it the once. The name is hilarious.
I think it was found over by the floral preservative stuff in a Michael's or
some similar arts & crafts place.

Depends on the height of the ceiling and the jumping ability of the cat.
We had one who could make it from the floor to the top of the fridge
in one leap. That house had low ceilings, she could've gotten anything
hanging from the ceiling. This house has 9.5-foot ceilings, so even she
would've had difficulty getting to anything hung from the ceiling.
