Mega quilter problems
I recently purchased a used, but almost new, Viking mega quilter. It is skipping stitches and the thread keeps breaking. I have adjusted both tensions, and re-threaded, adjust the frame,it sews good for a minute, then the thread breaks or skips stitches. It is driving me crazy...I am new to quilting, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Mega quilter problems
I have had a Mega Quilter for a few years and despite going back to the maker for new tension unit and a service, I cannot get it to sew reliably, particularly free machine quilting. To be honest I have given up and am starting to hand quilt if I want a pattern. It takes longer but it's not as frustrating. Sorry I can't be more help, but don't assume it is you. It might be worth checking with an engineer.

It needs to be sharp and big to make the hole and not shred your thread. So, every project you need to thing about your thread size if your quilting or piecing and also if you have the cruise control or not. The sewing machine lady at Joann's is usually very helpful. |

This machine is annoying sometimes and very touchy I find. I also can never remember how to thread it because it is so difficult. |

Thanks Dora I also bought a used, well cared for Mega Quilter - owner is a friends, and I trust her in the fact she has had this machine serviced. I did a small project first, didn't have any problems ... now I've got a full size quilt on the frame and the thread keeps breaking. I've changed the needle, I'm using good quality thread ... I sew for just a few inches and thread breaks .... I'm going to check and make sure I put the bobbin in correctly. Best to all my quilter siblings. Lois. |
