need help- 2 questions
For the bears, cut squares (or rectangles), add a triangle in each corner,
sash with something nice. You could make little 4-patch squares for the sashing intersections. Or if you want something more Christmas-y, make the corner triangles and sashing the same (dark) fabric, find a pretty (medium) contrast for the intersections, and at each end of each sashing piece, add 2 (light and bright) corner triangles. When you put all of this together, you will have little 8-point stars separating the corners of every block. (Takes longer to describe than it takes to make it!) For shabby chic, a double or triple Irish chain is simple and quick. Gives you a nice blank area for a pretty quilting motif too. Roberta in D "David & Barbara Schmidt" wrote in message ... 1. A friend gave me 3 yards of the cutest most adorable teddy bear Christmas fabric. The "motif" is rather large, and repeats with no other design. It's about 8x10. I want to make a kids quilt with it, but what can I do to break up the monotony (sp?)? It has to be something really easy, yet cute. 2. I also want to make some "Shabby Chic" quilts to sell. What sort of easy designs do you think would work? I'd like a little fancier than juat a basic 4 patch or 9 patch. Thanks for your help. I want projects to work on when I'm recuperating from the surgery. Babs |
