Default donut method: I'll be serious now

the donut never worked for me either. I have success with cookies...

I throw a flat disc on the wheel head. Lay in concentric finger grooves
and cross it. This holds the bat and the groves somehow release the
bat when I pull up on it. I wet and refresh it for each bat.
