Default Where is everyone??????

Hi friends; I returned fter a long vacation ( nearly 6 weeks), and there
were so few posts. Less than 2000. Then I checked this morning, and TEN
posts overnight we have had "unpleasantness", neverwars, but so many
familiar names are mising. Those I know well are there, thanks Dianne, Vic,
Cheryl ( Darnit I lost your address when in NH), Mirjam,Jenn, TM.,and I
think I also saw Pat P and Sheena as in and out folks. Am I really out of
touch, or does it just seem that way???

Hugs and happy stitching to all my RCTN buddies

Gillian

Ah, Gillian, maybe it's just one of those less busy times, with people
having to deal with the fall, leaves, things to do. Who knows. You don't
have those problems in FLA ;^) Of course, it could be worse - we could be in
the throes of a 'Banned from the Garden' 900 message avalanche Big, evil,
grin

For me, I'm busy doing a bunch of stuff around the house, and very busy with
a bunch of hockey business. Once October comes, in this household we're in
high gear - until April at least. And while RCTN is addictive, I'm still
catching up on my back reading, and can't afford to spend too much time with
it.

Of course, I'm behind in my stitching goals, and trying to get a few NP
designs finalized, and kitted up for the models to be stitched. Then by Nov
1 I've made a commitment to be working full speed on new designs, and
getting ready for the TNNA trade show in LA mid-January. Having a hard time
deciding on what to put in my next ad, and working up the spring/summer
designs that are important for winter trade show. I've just been in a
creative funk, and should be stitchin' and posting happy dances - but
instead, I've decided to learn to knit.

Anyhow, maybe I'll go finish the Betsy Stiner little sampler I'm working on.
That would be something.

So, glad to have you back - even if you left my name off the list of people
you remembered ;^)

The really hard part of selling your home is having people come in and
thumbing their nose at some of the things. comments like "An all white
kitchen?" Or, "An all-white bathroom?" Well, ok, so paint it. And
neither are all white, thank you.

I have finally put my house on the market and all that that entails.
Like trying to pretend you live in magazine style normally. I also
worry somewhat that my disagreeable cat Bucket will not like strangers
walking through when I am not around and swat them. I can't really
take him out with me as he gets desperately car sick.

So I am also trying to start putting stuff in boxes, particularly
stash, even the realtor did a double take when we got to that room !
My magazine collection I am giving to the Guild - all back issues of
Needlecraft and Classic Stitches from the first editions. Plus many
others, some no longer in print. Now to start taking several (read as
many as I can cart) every Tuesday to the stitchins.

Busy, busy, mutter, mutter

Isn't the whole effort a real pain? And then there's all the pursed lips,
disapproving looks and criticism. Cream walls are so passe this year, my
dear!!!! But if you pain the the "wrong" shade of blue they don't like that
either. As if it can't be changed with a brush and a little effort.

Good luck, Sneena and, if you feel the need to vent, we all have broad
shoulders and BTDT.

Well, it's the old "Peaks and Valleys" thing and this group happens to be in
a loooong valley right now. Very little discussion of needlework.

That's why you have the realtor deal with it, and you go away when your
house is shown to strangers. Saves the hurt feelings and annoyances ;^)

If you haven't signed a purchase and sale, you could tell them No Deal!

I wish that was the hard part. So far for us it is the "inspector" a
potential buyer brought in. He pulled the top off the vanity and
disconnected the plumbing. I had cleaned the bathroom the night before

found something I meant to leave behind which I put in the vanity
cabinet, I wouldn't have even known what happened. When I opened the
door there were wet paper towels on the floor of the cabinet to catch
the water from now-leaking faucet. The kicker--they are requiring that
we fix these items at our cost before the buyer will take the house. I
am anticipating a court date. They also did some other things that fall
in the nuisance category (such as taking screens off the skylights and
not replacing them--I can't reach them no matter what I stand on) but
aren't demanding repairs to those items. Grrr! This buyer has been
trouble since day one when he bid 12% lower than our asking price and
seriously expected us to take his offer even though it would make us
take a loss on the house.
