Default Finally caught up! Now back to Stack-n-Whack

Well I finally caught up with all the messages here that I was slowed
down by my computer woes. I am also working on my first sample block of
the Stack - Whack blocks I will be doing. Practice first on any new
block pattern I do is a must for me. This way I can see first hand what
I must do to make my blocks come out the way I want them to. Also I am
able to make some use of the fabrics that I cut wrong the other day and
that makes me very happy indeed.
All my practice blocks go into a special box for later uses in
'special' quilts that I do from time to time.

Don't forget to post pics. After seeing some fabric on ebay and looking at
the whack and stack quilt that was made from this fabric I decided I was
going to make one of these quilts.

Well I 'won' the fabric so now am after all the info I can get.

I have been away from the puter since early yesterday. Thought I would
give some time to the stack's sitting here. I am not quite happy yet
with what I have done. So no pics at this time. The blocks are getting
better as far as my putting them together and the designs looking
right. But not quite the way I would like them yet. I think the
fabrics I am using need a bit of refining. I chose a couple of bright
novelty prints to work with and am definitely doing my best to work the
wrong cuts into the right cuts... and this as anyone would expect is
'not' a good thing to try. Especially when trying to learn a new
technique.
The die hard that I am is going to continue two work on the blocks
that I am doing if only to get the experience under my belt (so to
speak). Then I will at least know what I need to do the next time around
which will be soon. I don't anticipate seeing these blocks in a quilt
any time soon. But I am sure, as with all my experiments, they will be
put to good use. And I know that in only a couple weeks or so I should
feel confident to cut into another stack of fabrics and do the job the
way it should be done. So as soon as I feel confident I will definitely
be putting up some of what I am doing. Just not yet. (I know there is
no such thing as the perfect quilt.) Tonight 10:30p already, so
tomorrow I will begin again working on the blocks... I can't seem to
stay away from them even long enough to catch up here.
