That's a very handy pattern to have 'stored' Wendy. Thanks very much
for posting it.

Congratulations to your granddaughter in advance, a fantastic achievement.

If a very lazy, contemporary design appeals then have a look at
http://www.byannie.com/free_patterns.html
I rather like the effect the red and black has but I'm sure that
stitched in different reds and neutrals it would look quite good.

I'm partial to Scrappy Stars from Bonnie Hunter at quiltville.com

bottom of the page there's one in blues and neutrals. Or, you could do
the beige behemoth from Big Horn Quilts.

One nice thing about that one is that no two blocks are the same so
you certainly won't get bored with it. A bunch of us are plugging away
at it. One person in our group is doing it in reds.

Oooh! That "Scrappy Stars" is adorable! I love it!!

Thank you sew much for that link, Liz!!

I've already told Talena that there will not be just two fabrics - there
will be lots!

My immediate thought was a cream/red smallish print for the background
and then add reds and neutrals to make whatever pattern appeals to you.
If you go for something simple, the Double or Triple Irish Chain is a
good one. Any of the quilts in the Quilt In A Day series is quick and
easy- and you could draft your own patterns since they are pretty basic
blocks. And you can dress them up with your fabric selections. I'd
advise against just using two fabrics- get a variety of reds and neutrals
to spice it up a bit.

She would like a quilt made from reds & neutrals. Any suggestions for a
pattern that would look really great with those two colors? Nothing
complicated - I'm a lazy quilter! Right at the moment I'm drawing a
complete blank!

I love Irish Chain in all its forms, and IMO it looks particularly good in 2
colors. You can do a single chain (9-patch alternating with plain squares)
or a double chain in 2 reds. And the plain areas are so wonderful for
quilting.

Is this a regular poster or an idiot who took a wrong turn??

I would suggest a pattern that resembles a large
dick and balls.

To make up for the ones you so clearly lack?

She will probably be getting many after
college. I know i did.

I doubt it.

In any case, I don't think she particularly wants to think about her GD
having sex ... maybe her priorities are a little different than yours?

No offence, but we try not to reply to posts in any way like this. We
also try not to use the s-x word in full as it encourages more
unacceptable visitors.

Yikes! Sorry!!

I wasn't sure if this was an idiot or regular poster making a joke in
poor taste. On the off chance that it was a RP, I thought I'd let them
know it wasn't funny a'tall.

And I really didn't think that anyone here REALLY talked that way - I
sure as heck haven't seen anyone do that!

Again, I'm really sorry! I didn't mean to feed the trolls!!

Not to worry - but sometimes they do become a real nuisance.

This is a quilt called Reflections. The pattern is by Billie Lauder, and
used to be on the web. I had purchased the "end of a bolt" in a neutral
with a tiny red and blue print, and was looking for a way to use it. It
sure made a dent in all my reds.....
http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...55292175vKpwCu

The pattern is no longer on the web, but I have a copy if you are
interested.

*rolls eyes*
This was one time I had thought the stereotype of a little old lady in
a shawl quiltin' would have been a GOOD thing. Would've thought for
sure that no weirdos would have thought to venture in HERE.

What the heck is the world coming to???
