"new" knitter and shawl question.
I was happy to get a mail from one of my nieces, telling me that she
wanted to take up knitting this autumn! As you know, children learn knitting in Norwegian school, but she has not practised in years. Now she wanted to start a shawl, and asked about pattern. As I think it is best for her to start with a Norwegian written pattern, I sent her the classic one, kn2, yo, knit to the end; till it is big enough. WELL...Big enough.... there was a discussion here about that, somebody said about the shawl with, as I can remember: "wing with" + app 30cm (1 foot). Or 56"- 60"?? Will that be a big shawl you can "crawl into"? If you will make a shawl to put over your coat (it's cold here in the winter), I think it might be a bit TOO big...or?? Any suggestion? AUD ;-)) |

Below is a link to a shawl I'm thinking of making. It says that it is
60" long and there is a photo. Mona |
