Default I decided, I think

Hullo Muggy
Don't run yourself down for deciding on ready-chosen fabric sets. It is
a great way to get yourself more confident with colour choice and usage.
In almost any field it is a 'good' thing to seek and follow advice from
professionals or masters in the game. Why should quilting be any
different. You keep it up as long as you need to. Then I bet you'll be
sneaking in a bit of this and a bit of that into the collections! You
will have begin to learn unconsciously what look well together, and
you'll soon be setting 'quilt shops on fire' in your rush to seek out
your own groups of fabric. Your first step in the road is to choose the
collection. So, you have already made your own fabric choice - it
wasn't that hard, was it?!! You keep going in your own way - that way,
you'll love your quilts.

I asked earlier about quilts for my daughters. I was going to do two
Irish chains, but I think I've decided to do samplers instead. My
daughter who wanted a "blue quilt" has decided she'd like a "sky
quilt" so I ordered the Celestial Blues Medley from Keepsake, and will
add whites and maybe a solid dark blue to it and make star blocks.

I've also went to Keepsake (no affiliation, just like them) for the
Spring Mix Medley for my other daughter.

As you can see, I have no confidence in my own ability to select
fabrics that go together. That's something I really need to get.

Since the fabric isn't here, I'll be working on my Snowbound quilt and
the Santa sampler I'm doing for my boss for next Christmas.

AGain, thank you all for the help.

Those quilts sound so happy that you have selected to make them! Nice
choice, you'll love doing them, and your daughters will love getting them.

When I finally decide on the pattern and color scheme, I trust my LQS "Quilt
Country" in Lewisville to help pull it all together. It is a little bit of
a trip but worth it. The ladies are so nice and helpful. They listen and we
work together until she and I are happy. Never been disappointed.
Sometimes only a tweak for my selection to make it perfect. NAYY
