Mine in 1928. It's quite new for this village. The church was rebuilt
in the 1100's on Saxon foundations, and the school (Victorian) has Roman
remains under it. I'm relatively new, having arrived in 1956 and moved
to this house in 1984.

I know that our "old" houses are quite a joke on your side of the pond.
Even on the other side of this country, since the Europeans didn't get
to Nevada even 200 years ago. There were Washoe and Paiute here, but
they weren't building houses. But I still love my house, and I am not
admitting to be old.....not this week. I'll say Mature.

I'm aiming to stay 'young' for quite a while yet, and be mature for a
very long time! Old is many decades away yet...

"Old is a way of thinking
and you don't have it yet.

Old is not doing new things
or going new places -
It's stagnation
and you don't have it yet."

(quote from my poem 'Growing Old')
