Not to clean your carpet or run your car, but as an alternative to an iron?
Which one did you buy and do you like it? Cheryl |

Cheryl Hi Cheryl, I bought Joy Mangano's "My Little Steamer". It's enough of a steamer to let me know that I should save my money and purchase a good one. This one, however, is a piece of crap. mag |

All the talk about Brooklyn reminded me of a place called "Lundy's" where we would go for a bucket of steamers. As far as a steamer is concerned, I have an old one that I rarely ever use. It just doesn't do a good enough job to dig it out. If I need extra steam, I just use the burst of steam button on my Rowenta iron. I've had better irons in the past but this one does a decent job. much snipping, hopefully I've got the attributions right
Lucille said: I was thinking clams too. All the talk about Brooklyn reminded me of a place called "Lundy's" where we would go for a bucket of steamers. My father wouldn't let us eat seafood in his presence but every once in awhile 'rich' relatives would sneak us girls to Lundy's -- can't remember what we had, just that it was doubly good because it was forbidden food. Cheryl said: Maybe I'll stick to the iron for the work shirts. As a teen every Sunday night, I was stuck doing the family ironing. This was before the advent of permanent press. Many things got heavy spritzing and were slightly damp after ironing but they were wrinkle free. -- another anne, add ingers to reply |

Lucille Oh my god, I didn't read your whole post! You do remember it. Not there any more. How about Randazzo's or Pips Comedy Club right there across from the piers. http://gotbodhicitta-wangmo.blogspot.com/ Security is not what I have, it's what I can do without,,, Did you know the rumor that Lundy's was owned by the "alleged" Mafia and the waiters were ex cons? It may even be true. I think Theresa Brewer was married to one of the owners. It was a really interesting place, with an interesting story attached. Randazzo's was some of the very best Italian food on the planet and Pips Coffee House was where I saw David Brenner and George Carlin for the very first time, when they were very, young. I spent a lot of nice evenings there. |
