Bulova L3 14K, Running: Scrap Metal???
I have a mens Bulova L3 in 14k gold. It seems to run fine, and has
just the usual scratches on the crystal. It has a nice gold tone expandable band which is U.S. made but I'm not sure if it is an original Bulova band. Can't find any markings except for made in the U.S. and patent pending. I've not been able to find an identical L3 watch on Ebay with which to compare values. Would I be better off selling it to a gold dealer for the scrap value of the gold, or selling it as a vintage watch? Is there usually a full ounce or more of gold in a man's Bulova, once the movement, band and crystal are removed? |

You can go to Ebay and find a seller of other watches who will be able to give you some idea as to it's worth. If the watch works fine, then you will get more for it as a watch then scraping it out for the gold. The people who buy scrap gold will gill you scrap prices, and in this case you won't make very much money. Mark |
