Question about Roving
"A-roving, a-roving, since roving's been my ru-i-in..."
Actually, it hasn't, but that song pops into my head whenever I read posts from you spinners. I called http://www.dzined.com today to order another skein of the wool/hemp/mohair sport weight to finish the toe of the pair of socks I started for my husband back in late May (very frustrating to need only another inch's worth of yarn, but I'll use the new skein to make myself a matching pair), and noticed the site lists pencil roving in 50% merino, 50% hemp. Sounds lovely. Can you knit with roving, or does it have to be twisted into yarn? If the former, I'd like to give this stuff a try. |

(For those who don't know, an "earworm" is when you have a song that you just can't get out of your head..........) Joan (I'll go no more a-roving with you....) -- Gone fibernatin'. |

Yes you can, and today it is done a lot....It al depends on what you are using it for. I would think that the socks would felt fast....When you want that effect, go for it. By the way I have the Spin Off Fall 2000, with the knitting with roving in it.....it is the mobius pattern....the easy one... Els -- delete doba to email me.....:=)) |
