Starting Cheap, no reserve!

Exquisite copper red (Shinsha) guinomi/sake cup. Shimaoka Sensei is
a National Living Treasure.

The piece is approximately 2 and 7/8th" in diameter and 2 and
3/8th" tall. It is decorated in red, green and yellow enamel in
resist windows. It is glazed in the difficult to find cooper red
Shinsha glaze. The technique requires a feldspathic clear glaze
brushed on. Then the circles are wax resisted and a layer of copper
is applied, followed by another coat of clear glaze. A second enamel
firing is done for the red/green/yellow decoration. This is a very
nice, collector's quality guinomi.
