Since I was whining about no one posting, I suppose I could at least get
something started! lol

As I posted before, I started on Keslyn Designs' "My day complete" and
was having trouble with it. I'm happy to report that it's been going
much better as of late, until I ran out of floss. That's been reordered
and I rec'd it yesterday.

While I was waiting for it to come, I started on a project for DS#2.

Background story: A couple years ago he gave me a few random skeins of
floss for Christmas (I didn't tell him I already have the entire set!
). They were some fairly bright colors...orange, green, turquoise,
yellow and 2 skeins of Fluorescent Effects. He said I could make him
something out of them. I thought to myself, what could I make with
*those* colors?!?!? I wandered around Google one day and saw a hot air
balloon and thought that might work. So I made it into a pattern.

So that's the project I worked on and will now put it aside to finish
the Keslyn one, which just has the 4 corners of the main motif and the
lettering left.

Trying to work on a birthday gift that's going to require dedicated effort.

Quilt/Sew/Craft festival was yesterday. Only one booth with hand
embroidery; mostly sew and quilt, but got some backing fabric for
pillows. Including this gift.

Should've taken the Vicodin *before* the pain got too bad, because it
was no help when I finally did take it.

The kit has most of the floss on a sorter but 4 complete skeins. At
bedtime, I could only find 3 of them, despite a search of the immediate
area. When I pulled it out to work on it this morning, that "missing"
skein was safely tucked into the clip holding my chart. Was I beyond
exhausted or what?

"A STITCHER'S HEART" by Little House Needlework's
http://www.littlehouseneedleworks.com/newpatterns.html
came with Crescent Colors floss, and the trim (special dyed for this
project), and a chart from Shakespeare's Peddler that uses the same flosses!

Also have 2 current knitting projects: 1)a shrug knitted with circular
needles from one cuff, up the sleeve, opening up for the back/body of
the project, then closing up again for the other sleeve & cuff, then you
pick up the edges and do a k2p2 ribbed edging for the body all the way
around. I have one sleeve done and about 1/4 the back/body. 2) the
second sock to my second (ever) pair of home-made/hand-knitted socks!
I'm making the leg(s) longer than my first pair so they will come up
higher on my calf (or I can 'scrunch' them around my ankles). and I am
also reversing the direction of the pattern (self patterning/striping
yarn) on each sock - just to be different

I was hoping that I could find something similar to the pillows found on this site http://www.ethicalsoul.com. I think that they would be great to add to my bedroom. If you think the throw pillow wouldn't work, just let me know I love them enough to purchase a few either way. thanks!

Just finished Tanja Berlin's Hapsburg lace, working on a Montmellick/trapunto class piece being taught at Guild, stitching a mini kimono (can't remember the designer), and I need to do an Artists' trading card as a gift for a Guild member who is leaving. I also need to start looking for a wedding sampler for my niece getting married next year. MLI's Bride is in for framing for the niece getting married this year.

Default What are you stitching?

Since my current WIP was at an intense counting stage, I took the little
ornament I designed a few years ago to my creative circle meeting so I
could stitch and talk at the same time. By changing a few stitches here
and there, one has magenta flowers and seafoam trim and the other has
blue snowflakes (as originally designed) and the original XXXXXX trim in
the middle was transformed to a row of hearts.

Since the row of hearts are connected, it's not that obvious what they
are, and I will have to sit down with graph paper and figure out a
version where they're free-standing, for Valentine's Day.

And now I'm back to my beloved's birthday present.

Default What are you stitching?

I'm working on some intense WIPs but took a break to make some cute
little ornaments. A VERY GOOD friend sent me a box of the BritStitch
magazines that she subscribes to, along with some of the freebie kits. I
read the mags and return some of them to her and forward some of the
others to another stitching buddy (and keep a few, too!) Anyway, I took
one of the freebie kits for felt ornaments and rather than using the
charts the magazine intended for them, I found some cuter small charts
in another magazine (small designs for an Advent calendar - a reindeer,
a tree, and a little birdie), and stitched them up on little bits of
Aida and inserted into felt and blanket stitched around the inside
aperture and outside backing. So I'm three ornies ahead for next
Christmas already!

Ooo, *thank you* for reminding me about this, Sue! I must start
stitching the Precious Moments Advent calendar for DGD. She should be
old enough for it by the time I get it finished!
