Turquoise info needed.
One of my ex work colleagues as asked me if I can make her some earrings
to go with a bracelet and necklace she bought whilst on holiday. It is supposedly turquoise and silver. Since she was wearing it I did not get chance to handle it. It has large turquoise beads of about 5/8ths in length. The thing that struck me is that none of the beads had any veining in them. All the turquoise beads I have , have got the veining. The only total blue ones I have seen are small cabochons. Are there large beads with no veining. I am not knowledgeable about turquoise. Shirley -- Shirley Shone |

Large turquoise beads without veining would be very expensive. Often the more
veining, the less the price....and the other way around. ~~ Sooz ------- "Those in the cheaper seats clap. The rest of you rattle your jewelry." John Lennon (1940 - 1980) Royal Varieties Performance ~ Dr. Sooz's Bead Links http://airandearth.netfirms.com/soozlinkslist.html |

I bought some clean (no veining) faceted turquoise beads about 1/2" x 5/16"
at Tucson a couple of years ago. I'm pretty sure they were $24 for a 16" strand. Georgia "Dr. Sooz" wrote in message ... Large turquoise beads without veining would be very expensive. There is a mine that produces Sleeping Beauty turquoise, which is
electrically treated and solid blue. Spendy too. Two drop shapes are 8x13mm are $50. A 20" strand of natural shaped nuggets 8mm is $60. Tina "Shirley Shone" wrote in message ... Thanks for all the info.
I cannot help wondering if she has got something that has been dyed turquoise. I cannot really seeing her spending mega bucks on jewellery. I will try and have a closer look at it Shirley In article 1067047256.550368@prawn, Christina Peterson writes There is a mine that produces Sleeping Beauty turquoise, which is electrically treated and solid blue.
