Default flesh coloring

hi, can anybody advice on this.
how to paint paper clay doll's flesh so that the underlying white color of
the paper clay shows thru a bit?
(a bit translucent like water color painting and not opaque like oil
painting.)

I tend to work with acrylics, so I would start with the more transparent
colors (that rating is on the tube) and thin only with gloss or gel medium
as matte tends to opacify the colors. Keep the consistency fairly thick, no
water, and use a dry brush to apply the color in sheer fashion letting it
dry before you decide to add more if needed. The waiting time is worth it.
This method give me the most translucent effect possible.

if you want paper to show through paint, then use thin washes of acrylic or
water colors.
