arghhhhhhh, i cant read all the msgs on here today,
broke my glasses last week, glued them then, find til today, needed more
glue, they are drying now, hope they work, i can read without major
squinting and its giving me a headarch.
i got my guild xmas party tomorrow and if the glasses dont fglue i wont be
going. would be a waste of time even if i had a ride, cant
seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. this sucks big time. i am blind as a bat without
glasses.
new one at my Rx with exam will cost at least $350, cant do it beofre xmas
cuz of the time frame. the city pretty much shuts down after xmas til well
into january, then we got short time frame before V day, how the hell am i
gonna cope. well, hows dh gonna cope. i am supposed to help dh with
deliverys the two weeks before xmas too, as always. i'm feeling like its
just another 'just shoot me' week.
tis a good thing i live at home and dont have to go out much, i can get
round the house and keep dishes/laundry done without seeing but anythiing
else and i'm pretty much screwed.
to read the ng i have to squint and get about 44 inches from the screen,
moving left to right to read.

Rotten isn't it. I remember mine falling to pieces when DS2 was in
hospital with suspected pneumonia. Luckily the nearest opticians had a
frame with slightly smaller "windows", and the technician was in, so I
was able to get the lenses reglazed into the new frames on the spot. I
can't see clearly past the end of my nose without mine - when I take
them off to dry my hair I have the devil's own job finding them again.

Any chance you can have your lenses transferred into new frames?

tis a good thing i live at home

Don't most of us? :-)

Don't forget to s-t-r-e-t-c-h every so often when at the computer to
reduce the aches.

Hope you get them sorted out soon.

Lizzy

Jeanne-

Sometimes you can take the glasses back where you bought them and they
can make a repair that's better than glue. Maybe you could at least try
it? They may have another solution if you act sweet and plead. I try
that everytime--- and every once in a while it just works out. Best of
luck.....

Oh, Jeanne, I really feel for you. I'm helpless without my glasses --
can see to get around the house, can even read (and get a headache in
the process), but I can't go anywhere or do anything else. Best wishes
-- hope you can get yours fixed/replaced soon.

Farsighted, huh?

Well, I guess that's better than me when I break mine: first thing I have to
do when they're fixed is clean the noseprints off the screen.

This must be why your posts are so well spelled and lucid.

Jeanne, I can empathize with you. I have a raging case of conjunctivitis
today. I originally thought it was an eyelash, but this morning, both of my
eyes were glued shut! Of course, it's snowing like the dickens here and I
had planned a work at home day so I didn't have to deal with the idiots on
the NJ Turnpike who don't know how to drive in this stuff. So I thought it
would be a good TV day. But, lately, all the news stations feel it is
necessary to post news reports for every flake that drops, so no regular TV
programming. Thank goodness for HGTV and my library of tapes. I don't
watch much stuff, but I like it on for background noise. No, I just hope I
can get a doctor's appt for my conjunctivitis. She is just across the
highway from me, so not to far to drive. Between the snow on the roads and
my vision, driving should be a real treat today!

I hope you get your glasses fixed soon! They say you can read better if you
look though a pin-hole in a piece of cardboard.
