I remember mine falling to pieces when DS2 was in hospital with suspected pneumonia. Luckily the nearest opticians had a frame with slightly smaller "windows", and the technician was in, so I was able to get the lenses reglazed into the new frames on the spot. I can't see clearly past the end of my nose without mine - when I take them off to dry my hair I have the devil's own job finding them again. Any chance you can have your lenses transferred into new frames? tis a good thing i live at home Don't most of us? :-) Don't forget to s-t-r-e-t-c-h every so often when at the computer to reduce the aches. Hope you get them sorted out soon. Lizzy -- Lizzy Taylor Heywood, Lancashire, UK 53:36:00N 2:06:00E http://www.thetaylorfamily.org.uk |

Jeanne-
Sometimes you can take the glasses back where you bought them and they can make a repair that's better than glue. Maybe you could at least try it? They may have another solution if you act sweet and plead. I try that everytime--- and every once in a while it just works out. Best of luck..... I'm helpless without my glasses -- can see to get around the house, can even read (and get a headache in the process), but I can't go anywhere or do anything else. Best wishes -- hope you can get yours fixed/replaced soon. -- Sandy in Henderson, near Las Vegas my ISP is earthlink.net http://home.earthlink.net/~s-foster |

Farsighted, huh?
Well, I guess that's better than me when I break mine: first thing I have to do when they're fixed is clean the noseprints off the screen. --pig On 12/4/03 4:35 PM, opined: to read the ng i have to squint and get about 44 inches from the screen, moving left to right to read. |

Jeanne, I can empathize with you. I have a raging case of conjunctivitis
today. I originally thought it was an eyelash, but this morning, both of my eyes were glued shut! Of course, it's snowing like the dickens here and I had planned a work at home day so I didn't have to deal with the idiots on the NJ Turnpike who don't know how to drive in this stuff. So I thought it would be a good TV day. But, lately, all the news stations feel it is necessary to post news reports for every flake that drops, so no regular TV programming. Thank goodness for HGTV and my library of tapes. I don't watch much stuff, but I like it on for background noise. No, I just hope I can get a doctor's appt for my conjunctivitis. She is just across the highway from me, so not to far to drive. Between the snow on the roads and my vision, driving should be a real treat today! I hope you get your glasses fixed soon!
