Default Long Arm Dealers/Manufacturers Show???

I have a question for those of you in the long arm world. At the retreat
this past weekend I met a woman who had just purchased a new long arm
machine. She said she had gone to a show of sorts in Kansas City. I guess
long arm companies from around the world bring their various models for
people to try out. She also said that it is held every year and that she
would get me the info on it when she got back. Thus far I have not heard
anything, so I was wondering if this rang any bells here.

TIA!

This will give you more information about next year's show. I attended this
year's show in Overland Park and really enjoyed seeing the quilts. It's a
great place to test drive any long arm machines you might be interested in
and perhaps find a show special deal. The show had been in Springfield,
Illinois for several years but will be in OP for the next few years. Hope
this helps.

Thanks Kathyl. Do I need to be an IMQA member to attend?

The owner of the store where I work bought two machines (Gammill
Statlers ?) at that show. They've now been installed and we're
learning and practicing. Great fun and just a bit intimindating.

joan
p.s. Thank you for starting a thread that isn't OT.

Oh no Joan! You're going to put the rest of us to shame with a long arm to
use! Your grandkids will have wonderful quilts for every day of the month!
Have fun.

Sounds like the MQS show, which was in Springfield until this year (first
Springfield, MO, then Springfield, IL), when it moved to Overland Park, KS.
Their website is http://www.imqa.org/ (NAYY)

A couple of other shows are MQX in NH
(http://www.machinequiltersexpo.com/ -- set your computer volume down
because the music is annoying) and Innovations in
Seattle(http://www.mqinnovations.com/index.htm ) . I haven't been to either
of these, but I understand they are all very similar.

I assure you, I am a long way from putting anyone to shame. Just
winding bobbins and threading the machine were a challenge Wednesday
night when we were practicing!
