What can you say? So I've sat and pondered about it..So decided on a
public THANKYOU to Nora.

For years now, I have envied her beautiful pineapple afghans she has made
for different rellies and friends, all that work, and it is truly a work
of love, the finished afghans a masterpiece in themselves.

She sent me a pattern for it, and I did start it, but didn't finish it,
well I did a small thin yarn one as a sample, and still I envied the ones
she made.

Then a couple of weeks back the postman called, with what I thought was
to be my koolaid she'd promised to get me, when I answered the door, I
was amazed at the huge parcel that the postie stood smiling at me with..
Gosh I thought reading the ''from'' label, Nora's gone berserk and sent
me a whole store pack of the stuff...

I couldn't believe what I found inside...Oh yes the koolaid was there
alright, some samples of yarn, so that I would know what she was talking
about when explaining yarn to me, but there wrapped in layers of tissue
paper, was a huge pineapple afghan....I was quite shakey as I opened it
and envied her workmanship, I wrapped myself in it and hugged it...too
shocked to say anything... Dave laughed at me...but that wasn't all, as
well as this beautiful crafted item, was a absolutely stunning variaged
blue white and pink Vstitch afghan...

Dave made me a coffee and told me to leave it alone for a minute before I
wore them out by fondling the afghans, lol. but I was so shocked and
amazed, and worst of all, it was at the time when my emails weren't
getting through to her to say how totally inlove I was with these
precious afghans..

So even though it's a few weeks on, I'd like to say thankyou publically,
and to let you know what a truly wonderful friend and emailer Nora Balcer
really is.. the parcel came at a time when I was not feeling quite myself
too, I'd had a migraine a few days before and it had only just gone, so
this was a real boost to my morale.

Looking at the afghans as I do every single day, I am still in awe of all
that work, every little stitch that has been made with me in mind..these
will be an heirloom for generations to come..

So Thankyou Nora....higz Cher

Hi Cher,

You have me sitting here with tears in my eyes at your lovely words to
me. I knew I had told you that I was making one as a wedding gift for
my nephew and his future wife and you said you would love to have one
so I told Tom, Cher will have one too. It my pleasure to do it for you.

To you other lovely ladies, thank you for your kind words. It's my
pleasure to be part of such a loving and caring cyber family.

Hugs,

Nora

Amid some of the other posts I find here this morning, this thread
really strikes me with the depth of goodness that is still to be found
in this world. I guess the Internet is like everything else (politics,
technology, religion) - good people do good things with it, and bad
people do bad things with it.

Peace all,
Joy

She is one of those people I call ''special'' people who drift into our

person, someone who continually 'gives' of themselves in so many little
ways, that they leave you quite humbled by their generosity, even though
they shrug it off as, ''oh it's nothing''.

I second Joy's words. There are a great bunch of people here and Nora
is one of the best. I have read of all that she has done today and
before, and I have to agree that she is one special lady.

It is great to hear of these good things, especially with all the bad
that is going on. It sure puts a smile on your face. And a great
story to read at the end of the day.

Three cheers for Nora,

Hugs,
Diane
