I agree with you Mirjam, it is hard to stay polite but I do. Not being
polite will only drive some people away, others do not care. As you
hinted, the more people knitting the more shops that will stay open.
Maybe even a new one once in a while.

I know this has been mentioned before but, I will say it again. Just
try to think what it is like to be a male knitting in public. As I have
been doing for over 25 years. I do as you Miram and stay polite, it
drives some crazy when I do not get irritated. I just smile and keep on
knitting or crocheting.

Hallo Dennis , i can`t imagine how people react to Knitting males ,
never saw one knit in Public , but knew some who knitted happily at
home.
As to polite answers , that is what we are , no way should we change
our persons for some agressive person. Deep down i think part of those
reactions are a bit of jealousy , because we make something either
useful and /or decorative with our time . minds and hearts .

Mirjam,

You explain everything so well. I got most of my aggression out in the
military. I agree, I think they are a little jealous of our creativity.

Dennis, I just tell them I am not in therapy nor do I drink or take
drugs to cope with stress. That usually shuts them up very quickly.

Thanks DA, I will get many miles out of that!!!

Thank you Dennis ,
I must add that in my curating words , for the knitting exhibition
"The Magic Wands" , i suggested that some makes might feel threatened
by women holding long knitting needles .
