Default Need Info on , Coral ( branch ) 1950's material

Hello,
I have some Coral ( branch ) that came from a collection from the
1950's .
my question is , where did most of the coral come from in the 50's ?
and If I sell this coral on Ebay what should the price be ? ( bye the
piece or carat or gram ? )
Thanks ....

[There are many different kinds of coral that have a basically branching
form. Some is valuable, most is not. If it's Mediterranean red coral in
relatively thick pieces, you might try selling it by the gram. If it's black
coral, you can sell it by the piece, as well as the other kinds, mostly
white in color, which people used to put in their aquariums back in the
fifties. You wouldn't sell it by the carat unless it's cut into gemstones.

If you're selling it on Ebay, it's best to set the initial price low, to get
people interested. Then you'll see what the market will bear - that's your
selling price.]
