Lost or stolen jewelry searchable datbase?
Hi All,
Anyone know of an URL/web address for a searchable database for lost or stolen jewelry like the pawn shops seem to have? Or is that a downloaded file? Typing "stolen jewelry" as a search turned up a bunch of news stories about cops recovering stuff and stories about busted thieves but not much in the way of a data base to search A friend of mine found a ring with a 14K stamp in it around the 7th of Feb in the parking lot of his apartment complex. He posted notices and adds without any response from anyone in this town. Since he doesn't have a 'puter I told him I would try see if it is listed anywhere. If the stones are real I would imagine some one wants it back. It has what I believe is a makers mark or halmark that looks like an oblong box containing a T with or a stretched c overlaying the up stroke of the T and a thinner oblong box connected to the right side of the larger. There is also what may be a serial number stamped in the band. Hope someone can help with this, or point me in the right direction TIA Jerry |
