I just remembered, this bit needs clarification. The yarn will NOT go into
the wire guide by itself! You go under, behind, under, behind, etc. until
you run out of needles when the dial stops. Then you lead the yarn behind
the last needle and into wire guide and tension arm, if I remember
correctly. With directions like these, it's no wonder Miss Barbie has to
take a break when it doesn't go right the first time!

LOL! I love the part in the that says "take a break and try again, patiently
in a little while"! I can't imagine how many frustrated parents lost their
cool trying to figure out those badly written instructions!

I *was* able to figure it out and am happily knitting lots and lots of
panels. For what, I don't know yet!

You could alternate the strips for a wide-rib blanket, perhaps using tubes
for a hem-like side edge and adding fringe to the top and bottom.
