Looking for info for an old Singer industrial sewing machine
I recently rescued a Singer 188k industrial sewing machine. I believe
it is meant for leather and the owners manual is dated 1963. This was my grandfathers machine and hasn't been used in at least 8 or 9 years. I'm looking for a good place to get supplies (oil, needles, belts, etc) and possibly a repair manual (websites or supplier). The owner's manual only has very limited maintainence info in it. Last I new the machine worked, and it is still in the original table. I'm also looking for an approximate value of the machine. It appears to be in good shape other than 9 years of dust and there is no visable rust. I'm also looking for a good repair shop for industrial machines in the Albany, NY area if anyone knows of any. Thanks! |

Finally someone here is able to take advantage of being close enough to you to benefit from your expertise! You wouldn't be interested in relocating to Reno, would you? ;-) -- Joanne stitches @ singerlady.reno.nv.us.earth |

I will take just 4 feet any day. At least once a season I get 30-36 inches
in one storm. No shovels, using the old plow truck. -- Ron Anderson A1 Sewing Machine PO Box 60 Sand Lake, NY 12153 518-469-5133 http://www.a1sewingmachine.com "Pogonip" wrote in message ... We seldom have "serious" snow, so all available rigs came out to plow. The city has a few plows, but they were supplemented with steamshovels, backhoes and even bobcats. It was a sight. The most amazing sight was the small herd of deer that came down our street and into the park across the street, in search of food. We live a block from the freeway, a hop, skip and a jump from the downtown high-rise casino hotels and a major medical center. Those deer must have been hungry indeed to come into this area. -- Joanne stitches @ singerlady.reno.nv.us.earth |

I understand it well, in my youth my dad was transferred in his job to
Maryland, well one winter we got all of may 4-6 inches, it shut the whole place down as they did not have plows or any means to remove it. -- Ron Anderson A1 Sewing Machine PO Box 60 Sand Lake, NY 12153 518-469-5133 http://www.a1sewingmachine.com "Pogonip" wrote in message ...
