Fabric Bowls on Simply Quilts

I googled for fabric bowls and found a link to HGTV that says Simply Quilts
will feature fabric bowls on April 16.

I have been following these several threads on fabric bowls recently but
what are they USED for? Just for decoration?

Although intended as purely for decoration you can use them to corral
some of your quilting and crafting things. A large one could be used
as a fancy scrap basket and you can make small ones to hold some of
the sewing machine parts, like special feet, if you don't already have
a special place for them. I've even seen a silk flower arrangement in
a tall narrow one.
