Oh...I know: I should get some heavy silver wire, and put threads in it

and
in each bead. I could make a whole slew of the expensive and special
bracelets (in my own way, of course). That ought to please my sister in

law.
(tongue totally in cheek, of course)

Hypothetically of course, you wouldn't use a hollow bead would you? I'm
having trouble picturing what you would be threading into.

It's nice to hear that your creative juices are flowing.

How about that charoite with Bali caps and largish crystals. Expensive, but
I'll bet it would be stunning.

This evening, I actually got a whole slew of things done. I made a lariat
from amethyst and rose quartz. It came out very nicely, and was a welcome
change from making "normal" necklaces.

Then, I made a couple of funky necklace/bracelet combos: One with a blue

and
white porcelain shard as a pendant and blue/white beads as accents; the

other
with blue and green lampwork, accented by blue czech beads and bright

green
fiber optic rondelles as accents.

It was pretty fun, although I miss beadweaving. (Can't do that just yet -

it
pulls on my sore neck.) DD pounced on the blue and green combo and

claimed
it for her own.

I had a lot more ideas than energy, so I quit after 2-ish hours. I'm

still
having a hard time with those Charoite Spherical beads. The 14 mm size is

so
large that all my iterations keep looking like Wilma Flintstone jewelry.
Anyone know of necklaces using large, round beads that doesn't scream

"Meet
the Flintstones!" on the wearer? (Ones that scream Marge Simpson are even
less welcome)

I've made a Charoite necklace with lots of Bali beads in interesting tubular
and hexagonal shapes in between. Bali really sets off the Charoite. Sorry, no
pictures, computer needs more RAM so I can use my scanner again. Sigh.

Actually, a very plain silver neckring might be just the thing for
your big bead.

Why not give it a try?

Why not patent it and sell it with a certificate of authenticity?

I think I'll do this, and it leaves me a whole slew of Charoite to give as
gifts!

Oh my God. I've just picked myself up off the floor from laughing way too
hard. I thought that said "might be just the thing for your big HEAD" and I
thought "boy, these people must really know each other well to get away with
saying something like that! :-o

Here's what I did with a few of those
no-longer-available-but-oh-so-beautiful! charoite rondelles a few years
back. Don't know if it will give you any creative nudges or not, but it
might...

BTW - those are 10mm Swarovski Heliotrope 'headlight' crystals and 8mm
lavender freshwater pearls, which should give you some idea of the size of
the charoite rondelles.
